I really like going to this salon. I started going to Exsalonce from a referral several years ago and Tony did my hair and he was awesome! He also did my hair for my wedding where I had gorgeous extensions and my hair was perfectly died and colored. I had to move to Oak Park at one point and due to the treck, I tried to find a salon closer. I tried like 5 places and none were nearly as good. I finally decided it was worth the commute! Now I actually go to Thomas and he is also phenomenal! I just got my hair done this past weekend and the blonde highlights are amazing!

I have been getting my hair cut and color by Tony for over 10 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. I receive some many compliments on my hair. I also love that he is always ready when I arrive and all of the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Just last month I needed my bangs trimmed and they had me come in right before the salon open to get them trim. Tony is the type of person who sincerely cares about his customers and always has great recommendations. Two years ago I mentioned that I always break out after I get my brows wax. He told me he does threading and asked if I wanted to try it out. It was wonderful and painless.  Since then I once had my brows done by someone else and all I can say is ouch!

I've been getting my haircut at Exsalonce for years. In fact, for a short time, I was commuting from Washington, D.C. to get my haircut from Tony. I always get a great cut, the conversation is fantastic, and they always run on time. In fact, just last week I got there 15 minutes early and instead of taking his break, Tony got me in and out ahead of schedule.

I've been many times to Exsalonce over the past two years.   This time I decided I wanted to cut my hair shorter for summer in the hopes that my wavy hair could be styled without much work.  I brought in a photo to Tomas to give him an idea what I was looking for and told him to do whatever he wanted.  I have never been more ecstatic about a hair cut in my life.  It is exactly what I wanted and the styling tips he gave me really make it a breeze.  Fantastic!

I'm shocked that I have not yet reviewed this business, as I have been going there for haircuts for a few years now.  I love love LOVE this place, and just cannot find a replacement, even though I have moved to another state.  I always time my trips back to Chicago around the time I need a haircut, because there is no point for me to bother finding a place that's comparable where I live now.

I love the customer service.  It's top notch, from the receptionist to the person who's working in the back cleaning and helping the stylists.  I absolutely adore my stylist, Joan and usually only need to use a few words to relay to her what I want done with my hair.  She also always gives me tips on how to take care of my hair and maintain it.

Aside from my personal experience with the one stylist I love, the atmosphere of the salon is very laid back and classy, without being snobby.  The clients range from your normal unpretentious person to the lady who dresses her poodle in Gucci.  The prices are very reasonable, and everyone is very friendly and nice.

The salon is in a busy neighborhood in the city, and parking can sometimes be a pain, so take that into consideration when trying to get there on time for your appointment.  Obviously, this is not the salon's fault, but I thought I'd note it.

My favorite part about this salon is that they are very timely and respectful of the clients (as long as the clients are respectful too), in that every time I get there on time, I am always in my stylist's chair exactly at the time of my appointment.  It's one of my biggest pet-peeves in a salon I used to go to, where I would get there on time, but would be delayed, because the stylists would just take anyone who walked through the door.

Tony is a creative hair genius.  He is a true artist with hair.  I live in LA and  I ONLY go to Tony, no joke.  He can take whatever damage I've done (and I do a lot) and  he truly "saves" me and turns me back to feeling stunning.  I''m a simple girl when it comes to styling, so he knows how to create a perfect masterpiece for "each individual" based on your unique characteristics and style.  I'm in "awe" every time he cuts my hair, like last week... I felt "new" again.  You know that "you have to hit the town, just because you look so amazing with your new haircut" feeling? That's what Tony does, every time for me, so I want other people to feel just as good!  Tony is great and everyone at his salon is really sweet and make you so comfortable.  If you want a fabulous cut, from the best, just go to Exsalonce Salon.  Rare commodity these days.

I love Exsalonce, although I must say that I really love it because Joan is there! I have 4 different friends with very different hair that all see Joan, and everyone always comes out looking fabulous. I am always happy walking out of cut or color appointments. I truly believe that Joan is a styling genius!!!

I also went to Exsalonce on my wedding day for myself, my mother, and my bridesmaids to all have hair done. It was fabulous. Everyone felt super beautiful and they were so accommodating to having the whole 'crowd.' So although I am loyal to Joan, the other stylists there have proven to be just as wonderful! Even when the day comes that I no longer live down the street, I will go the distance for Exsalonce.

This was a great experience. I had Tomas. I left with a great haircut and my highlights looked natural.

Tony has been doing my hair for about 15 years or so.  He's talented and can look at your face and come up with the most flattering way to cut your hair and still honor what you asked him to do. He's seen me through so many lengths and colors and I have always gotten compliments on my color.  Also, he's up to date on the latest and the greatest in hair and products. He appreciates his clients and has worked VERY hard to have his own salon too. (I first went to him at Basics on Southport). If you ever have any issue with anything about your experience, tell him, he'll make it up to you. (It won't be a refund or anything but he'll do whatever else is necessary). Always has great tips and stories too, love to chat it up with Tony!

Joan is by far a hair cut and color genius!

I cannot begin to describe the overwhelming relief that i would no longer have to drive south to get my hair cut (sorry Esteban)!

Pricing for eyebrows was standard $18, but hair and color was a steal!!I have long hair, so trust that i was expecting a $200+ bill, not even close!

Plus if you pay with cash you get an extra 5% off your salon services!!!

This place is fabulous, well-priced, and Natalie does my hair better than anyone else ever has! Located right in the heart of Roscoe Village. I also love their products (L'Oreal Professional and Dermaologica).

if i could suggest one thing.....please go see joan!!! she works miracles and i have never everrrrrrr had such a beautiful blow dry!! she is young, beautiful(inside and out)   and one of the most talented hair dressers out there. she did my friends extensions and it changed her life. they day she got them done she was crying she was so happy. joan's cuts and colors are to die for also! besides joan being awesome, the whole salon is great. it has such a warm feeling to it and its not uptight or stuck up at all. they are always on time, i have never had to wait to be seen.

If I could add another star, I would!

After a week with my extensions, I was having problems styling them because they were getting clumpy.  I thought it might be my shampoo & conditioner because the product I was using was for fine hair and now I have all this luxurious, thick hair!  So, I called.  They weren't even technically open yet, but they said I should come in.

They looked at my hair and suggested a new shampoo & conditioner for me...and they were exactly right on the money.  Now my extensions are silky smooth, just as they said they would be.

I was even expecting to pay $100 plus for the new products, but they were VERY reasonable -- about $60 for shampoo, conditioner & deep conditioning treatment.  Not the small bottles, either, these are the real deal.

Not to mention, they said if I had any problems whatsoever with the products to bring them back and we would find something that works.

Customer service like WHOA.  I love it.  Thank you Exsalonce!!!!!!

Good place for the fellas to get their hair cut in a non-pretentious atmosphere and for a good price.  See Joan.  She's young, talented, down-to-earth, and is just a good stylist.

Tony is great!  He is a teacher at the L'Oreal color institute and is able to work magic on my hair color.  I've been getting highlites for YEARS and they always end up brassy.

I went to Exsalonce after my coworker recommended him (and my coworker has FANTASTIC hair) and I don't think I will be going anywhere else for my future cuts and color!

I used to pay only $120 at the chinatown salon, but I was never ecstatic about my hair.

Also, if you have dry hair, you have to buy the L'Oreal conditioning mask there. I feel like I belong in a hair commerial now.  It was only $22 and it lasts FOREVER!

Great place.  Tony is the bomb!  He is amazing not only at cut, color & makeup, but does hair extensions that are so natural no one will ever know it is not your real hair!  I highly recommend!

I switched from a certain place down the street to here for my haircuts and I'll never go back.  They are comparably priced (pretty cheap) and this place takes appointments whereas the other one does not.  It's a no-brainer. I've been happy pretty happy with my hair every time I go here. Guys, they'll touch up they back of your neck for free.  My hair is usually pretty long so it's not a big deal for me but I'm sure it's nice if you keep your hair short.
